While Oregon has two enacted laws to both divulge and monitor trans fat in restaurants and schools, families must monitor intake of trans fat at home. "Trans fats alter how insulin and glucose interact in the body. Trans fat is an unnatural unsaturated fat made in a lab and is a contributing factor for child obesity, high blood pressure, Type 2 Diabetes and high cholesterol," Dr. Abraham explains.
